DRY bulk owner Taiwan Navigation has placed a US$51 million order for two 62,000 dwt ultramax bulk carriers with Japanese yard Oshima Shipbuilding, as part of its efforts to upgrade its fleet.
The order adds to a similar order placed by the company for two 62,000 dwt bulkers at Oshima in May. The newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021, reported Singapore's Splash 24/7.
Taiwan Navigation currently has a fleet of 20 vessels. Two 80,000 dwt newbuildings are due to join the fleet in October.
